I am planning to attach a wind turbine to a homemade generator to run when a drive at 20-30 kmph at my vehicle. Just wanted to know that will running a shaft attached to the turbine in a magnetic field generate current ????? If any more suggestions are there , they are always welcome. the shaft will be a vertical axis shaft.

i wondered if i could generate electricity to run appliances in my home?

I need a circuit breaker for this model . I’m in the central Georgia area.

in response to jacks answer to my previos question regarding how to use generator: my generator has what i call a throttle adjustment which allows me to idle it up, or slow it done to a lower idle. its just like that of a lawn mower. that is what i was talking about when i was talking about throttle speed. it goes from slow to run, therefore prompting me to think maybe i could just run it slower for lighter loads in order to save gas.

After getting very sound advice on this site, I will be putting a new Voltage Regulator on my Falcon after I have already installed a new Generator. I installed the new generator the other day, and drove the falcon all day with no hitches, after coming home, i ate, and when i went to leave a few hours later, the car wouldn’t start. The seems like the battery is dead. So.
TODAY, i will be aquireing a new voltage regulator. They are a pretty easy install, I just want to know what I should do when installing it to prevent any problems from arising.

i have a briggs & stratton 3500 watt generator. if i only wanted to power say a lamp and a tv, or just maybe a couple of small fans at night by their self, should i run my generator at full speed, or could i cut the throttle back to about halfway to save gas and increase my runtime?

It is a new machine. Put gas in it to run for a short period of time…have not used it since…this being about 4 years. The engine is frozen so that it is impossible to start it with the pull rope. Thanks for any advice.

My house has only Electric heaters. There is not gas service in my area. I would like an alternative heating source in case of a power outage. Would it be better to buy a back up generator or install a propane heater ( which I would have to install the propane lines etc)

I am doing a science fair project that is going to involve a methane bio gas generator and I need to know how to create one.
