well, with a 5KW generator, which would only run, say a fridge and a couple lights, or a well pump, would use at least 3-5 gallons a day, possibly 8-10 at full capacity…hope that helps…make sure You open Your main circuit breaker so You aren’t sending power to the grid, and BE CAREFUL…many people are injured and KILLED by generators each year, especially utility workers

we are expecting up to an inch of ice today in ohio, I have a brand new baby at home and no generator. I stocked up on formula, flashlights bottled water and batteries just in case, what are the chances of the electric going out, even if its just a half inch of ice??

Heyy so im in a Australian school and this week the temperature is reaching 40+ degrees Celsius (thats about 104F+) not including the humidity so that makes it really hot and sticky
is there a certain temperature students are allowed home??
Also a school building is 3stories high, no air con, 2 shitty fans and can reach up to 43 Degrees on a day. isnt that a bit much?? i mean we are literally sweating on that lv all day long and theres nothing we can do.
the school wont get air con because they need to upgrade the generator.
so yeaa what temperature does it have to be to be sent home from school??

Every time i go to the pawn shop i always end up craping my pants. I crap em so hard that i got to leave to change and come right back…next time i best bring a diaper because the pawn shop always does it to me. Everything is pretty much stolen and new so i get 50% off pawn price because they know me for years.
The last time i craped my pants was when i got this really nice 2000$ diesel generator for 400$ and BAM!
Didn’t even feel it coming, reached in my pocket to count my cash and the next thing i knew was i got a landslide running down my leg filling up my work boot. I bought it there and then anyways with crap on my leg because it was too good a deal to let some other guy steal it, that’s my job!
I do it at home on the computer sometimes when i’m looking at tools on harborfreight.
It never happens with anything else, why only tools?

If a home furnace shuts down because of lack of power, no generator, or other heat source and it is in the low 20’s outside, how long might it take for the pipes to freeze. I also might indicate here that I have a slab home, no crawl space or basement and I am concerned about the upcoming snow and ice storm here in Illinois. It might be that we will encounter a power outage due to the magnitude of snow, ice and blizzard like conditions. It seems that years ago we encountered a similar problem just not quite as severe and the power was out for at least a day and the house temperature did not make it to 32 degrees. Is there something I can do to help keep the pipes from freezing?

I have a Web site that is live and stable. All I want to do for now is enable the client to edit a paragraph on the home page. I am going down the WordPress path because the plan is to add a blog later, and because I need to learn WordPress.
I’m working with the default twentyten theme. I replaced styles.css with my own CSS, but the WP HTML generator injected a ton of code that overrides most of my settings. Since I have a fully designed site, I don’t want to modify a bunch of templates to recreate it. Is there a way to tell WP to leave my code alone and just publish it the way I wrote it? Or is there a minimalist theme that won’t mess around with my HTML?
Any suggestions appreciated.
